Clara Mae Brockmueller, 89 of Lambertville, MI, and formerly of Corpus Christi, TX, went to home to be with Jesus, Saturday, May 17, 2014, in Aspen Grove Assisted Living, Lambertville, MI.  Born August 31, 1924 in Toledo, OH, she was the daughter of Newton and Leona Daisy (Miller) Blaine.  A 1942 graduate of the former Whitney High School, she married Paul F. Brockmueller on Dec. 26, 1945.  He preceded her in death on February 12, 1991.  Clara was a WWII veteran, serving in the former SPARS (U.S. Coast Guard). She was a Girl Scout leader, known as “Pepper” for several years, and was in charge of all the Day Camps in the Toledo area. Clara was a member of Bridgepoint Church (formerly First Baptist Church of Temperance) where she volunteered countless hours. While in Corpus Christi, TX, she volunteered thousands of hours and was instrumental in the creation of the Women’s Memorial on the U.S.S. Lexington.

Clara is survived by her loving daughters, Pamela Huner and Deborah Sue (Frederick) Tate. Granddaughters, Michelle (Aaron) Hollinger and Beth Huner.  Great grandsons, Joshua and Andrew Hollinger. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Thomas Blaine, sister, Luella Neddo and son-in-law, Tom Huner.

Visitation will be from 10:00 am – 12:00 Noon Tuesday, May 20, 2014, at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman) Temperance, MI, where funeral services will follow at 12:00 Noon.  Interment will follow at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Bridgepoint Church, Lake Erie Waves Unit #128, Gideon’s International or Wertz Warriors. www.pawlakfuneralhome.com
